Thousand Words Movie Night-Shooting Beauty

Thursday July 13, from 6-8 pm at the ConnectAbility office, we will be hosting a screening of the documentary Shooting Beauty, which inspired the Thousand Words Photography Project. Shooting Beauty tells the story of a photographer who attempted to capture life at a day facility for adults with cerebral palsy. After looking at the photographs she took, she decided that they needed a different perspective. With some creativity, velcro, and duct tape, the adults at the facility became the photographers. The images they took are a valuable insight to their lives and perspectives, and were showcased in a gallery for the greater community to see. The documentary tells the story of the project and the people who participated in it. It is nothing short of inspirational, and we hope that you will come and watch it with us. We will also be exploring the theme of this year’s Thousand Words Photography Project: access. If you have ever been curious about the Thousand Words Photography Project, ConnectAbility, or inclusive communities for people with disabilities, this is the perfect event to attend! This is a free evening, and refreshments will be provided. Space is limited, please sign up at: https://countmein.today/PreviewEvent/35
