Mikey’s journey in golf began at a young age, rooted in his family’s traditions and nurtured by a community that valued his interests and talents. As Mikey grew, he was welcomed into spaces where individuals with disabilities are often excluded — spaces like exclusive golf courses — and with the support of his dad and advocates, he was empowered to see himself as a capable and talented golfer. Today, Mikey is an excellent golfer, held to the same standards as every other player on the course. His story is a powerful reminder that when inclusion happens, everyone rises.

The Mikey Charlton Invitational is more than a day of golf — it’s a celebration of ability, belonging, and the transformative power of community.

The Mikey Charlton Invitational takes place each October at his home course, Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega, Georgia.
